EAESSI commits to keeping the Passion of Evelyn Ancrum alive by honoring her passion 
through the work of this nonprofit and through the lives of those empowered by EAESSI.

The Beginning

Evelyn "Evie" Ancrum was born in Charleston, South Carolina on November 15, 1939 to John and Louise Ancrum. She was one of eight children and the oldest girl. Evelyn always had a passion to work with children it may have stemmed from taking care of her younger siblings as a teenager.

Education & Career

After completing her Bachelor's degree in Education she worked as a substitute teacher while pursuing her Master's Degree in Education. Upon completing her Masters Degree, Evelyn started her career as a teacher with the Broward County School Board which stemmed over 35 years. In August of 2009, she passed away after a long fight against cancer.
