Help with follow-up costsFor uninsured women after a screening
Do not skip this stepIt is the one that matters most
Why it matters
A screening mammogram is only the first step. When something needs a closer look, diagnostic testing gives you real answers.
These tests can be costly, and that stops many uninsured women from following through. EAESSI helps you find the care and the funds so you do not skip the step that matters most.
The tests
What is breast diagnostic testing?
Diagnostic testing is the follow up after an abnormal screening. It can include a diagnostic mammogram with extra views, a breast ultrasound, a breast MRI or a biopsy that samples tissue.
A diagnostic mammogram
With extra views of the area that needs a closer look.
A breast ultrasound
Uses sound waves to look more closely at a finding.
A breast MRI
Detailed imaging when your doctor needs more information.
A biopsy
Samples tissue to get a clear answer.
Important to know
Together these tests tell your doctor whether a finding is harmless or needs treatment.

Is diagnostic testing the same as a screening mammogram?
No. Screening is routine. Diagnostic testing takes a closer look after a finding or a symptom.
Does a biopsy mean I have cancer?
No. A biopsy is used to get a clear answer, and most biopsies find no cancer.
